Vancouver, BCProject Overview
Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club is one of Vancouver’s longest-established racquet and athletics clubs, offering year-round tennis, badminton, squash, aquatics, fitness, dining, and social facilities.
Radiance Energy was selected to improve lighting performance across the club’s indoor tennis areas and bubbles, where lighting quality, visual consistency, and fixture aesthetics were especially important.
The Challenge
The facility had uneven lighting and annual lighting maintenance costs of more than $10,000.
For indoor tennis courts and bubbles, the existing system also needed to provide more consistent illumination without compromising the club’s visual standards or member experience.
The Solution
Radiance Energy identified high-performance LED fixtures designed specifically for indirect tennis lighting and selected products that matched the visual character of the facility.
The new fixtures provided more consistent lighting temperature and output across the indoor courts while reducing energy use and long-term maintenance requirements. The products installed were rated for more than 100,000 hours and backed by a 10-year warranty.

Lighting Designed for Racquet Sports
Indoor tennis lighting requires more than high brightness. Players need consistent illumination across the full court without distracting glare, uneven colour, or visual hotspots.
At Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club, the retrofit combined energy efficiency with a lighting design suited specifically to racquet sports, creating a more consistent playing environment while reducing long-term operating costs.
