Improved Energy Efficiency & Learning EnvironmentsLocation:
Surrey, BCProject Overview
Surrey School District is the largest school district in British Columbia, serving more than 83,000 students across 130 schools in Surrey, White Rock, and surrounding communities.
Radiance Energy conducted a comprehensive lighting audit and developed a modern LED retrofit designed to improve efficiency, visibility, and long-term system performance across district facilities.
The Challenge
The existing lighting infrastructure was consuming excessive energy and contributing to higher operating costs.
Frequent maintenance requirements placed additional pressure on facility resources, while inconsistent lighting levels affected visibility and the quality of learning environments. The district needed a cost-effective upgrade that could modernize lighting performance with minimal disruption to school operations.
The Solution
Radiance Energy completed a comprehensive lighting audit and proposed a modern LED retrofit using energy-efficient fixtures selected to improve light output while reducing electricity consumption.
Networked lighting controls were integrated to improve energy management and optimize operating schedules. Existing lighting equipment was also responsibly recycled and disposed of as part of the upgrade.
The new lighting system was supported by comprehensive 5- and 10-year warranty coverage, helping reduce long-term maintenance requirements.
Project Results
- Improved lighting quality and visibility
- Reduced lighting energy consumption
- Lower ongoing maintenance requirements
- Networked lighting controls for improved energy management
- Responsible recycling and disposal of outdated lighting equipment
- 5- and 10-year warranty coverage
- Improved learning environments for students and staff
