Project Overview

Boxmaster is a corrugated packaging manufacturer based on Annacis Island in Delta, BC. The company produces custom boxes, displays, and packaging solutions for a range of industries and operates a full-service manufacturing facility.

Radiance Energy was selected to improve lighting throughout the building, including offices, loading bays, warehouse areas, electrical rooms, and employee lounge spaces. The objective was to reduce energy use while improving lighting quality across the facility.

The Challenge

The existing lighting system did not provide the level of efficiency or illumination needed across a busy manufacturing environment.

Boxmaster wanted to lower electricity consumption while improving visibility for employees throughout production, loading, warehouse, and support areas. Better light distribution was also important for helping staff identify objects and potential obstacles more clearly.

The Solution

Radiance Energy replaced the existing lighting throughout Boxmaster’s facility with high-efficiency LED solutions selected for the different operating environments across the building.

The new lighting delivered more even illumination and lower flicker levels while significantly reducing electricity consumption. The retrofit improved visibility across work areas and helped create a brighter, cleaner lighting environment for employees.

Project Results

  • 80% lighting cost savings
  • 489,430 kWh annual energy savings
  • More than 96% reduction in lighting energy consumption
  • Improved lighting quality and visibility
  • 10-year warranty and 20-year life expectancy

Better Visibility Across a Busy Manufacturing Facility

Manufacturing and warehouse facilities require lighting that supports safe movement, detailed work, and consistent visibility across large operating areas.

At Boxmaster, the LED retrofit improved illumination across production and support spaces while substantially reducing the energy required to operate the facility. The result was a brighter working environment with lower operating costs and reduced long-term maintenance demands.

"The financial impact has been great, we're always very busy in June, but we just had our lowest electricity bill ever. The lighting itself, the quality, is like night and day, Radiance told us that these LED lights are the closest you can get to sunlight and they didn't disappoint. We have 70 employees in the plant, and anybody that we talk to says how excited they are about it and how much brighter and cleaner it is.
