Delta, BCProject Overview
Seaside Paper Products is a Canadian manufacturer and custom converter of specialty paper products, operating from a 90,000 sq. ft. facility in Delta, BC.
Radiance Energy conducted a comprehensive lighting audit and developed an LED retrofit tailored to the facility’s warehouse and manufacturing operations. The project focused on improving visibility for task work, reducing energy consumption, and creating more consistent lighting conditions across the facility.
The Challenge
The existing lighting system had become outdated, resulting in inconsistent illumination, high electricity consumption, and increased maintenance requirements.
For a manufacturing environment with large production and warehouse areas, Seaside needed a more reliable lighting system that could improve visibility and safety while reducing operating expenses.
The Solution
Radiance Energy completed a detailed lighting audit and implemented a custom LED lighting upgrade designed around the facility’s operational requirements.
The new system harmonized lighting levels across warehouse and manufacturing spaces, providing more consistent illumination for task work while improving overall energy efficiency.
Radiance also helped secure BC Hydro incentives covering more than 40% of the project cost, improving the financial performance of the retrofit.
Project Results
- More than 40% of project cost covered through BC Hydro incentives
- Improved lighting consistency across warehouse and manufacturing areas
- Improved task visibility
- Reduced electricity consumption and operating costs
- Reduced maintenance requirements
- Improved workplace lighting conditions and safety
Consistent Lighting Across Production and Warehouse Areas
Manufacturing facilities often require different lighting levels across production, storage, and circulation areas. Uneven lighting can affect visibility, safety, and the ability to perform detailed work consistently.
At Seaside Paper Products, the retrofit created a more uniform lighting environment across the facility while lowering energy and maintenance requirements. The upgrade supported both day-to-day production needs and long-term facility efficiency.
“Andy and his team at Radiance did a fantastic job upgrading our facilities lighting to LED. From the proposal all through completion of the work was a seamless experience. The new LED lighting has greatly improved visibility (much brighter) and has significantly reduced our hydro electric bill. Highly recommend Radiance to anyone.”
