The City of Montreal sought to modernize lighting at one of its hockey arenas to improve visibility, reduce operating costs, and enhance energy efficiency.
Radiance Energy developed a high-efficiency LED retrofit designed specifically for the demands of a sports environment, with a focus on brighter, more uniform illumination and lower long-term maintenance.
The Challenge
The existing lighting system consumed excessive energy and required frequent maintenance.
Lighting levels were also inconsistent across the arena, affecting visibility for players and spectators and limiting the overall quality of the playing and viewing experience.
The Solution
Radiance Energy proposed a modern LED retrofit using high-efficiency luminaires designed for sports applications.
The new lighting system was designed to reduce power consumption while maintaining strong brightness, improving uniformity and colour accuracy, and reducing ongoing maintenance through longer-lasting LED technology.
Potential rebates and incentives were also considered to improve the overall economics of the project.
